- Drafting and negotiating contracts including but not limited to those related to corporate, joint venture, tenancies, sales and purchase of land/ properties.
- Providing legal advice and support for the Group's business and operations across the region and to assist superior to establish and build legal strategies to ensure continuous legal support.
- Attending to the sale and purchase agreements and other related documents (collectively, sale Document) for real property development projects and liaison and follow through with sale and marketing department / personnel and external / panel solicitors (where applicable) to facilitate completion and finalization of the sale Documents from time to time.
- Manage and coordinate with external legal counsels and other third-party advisors on the Group's litigation and other legal related matters.
- Advising on general business law issues and managing the legal issues of all areas of the Group, including but not limited to business operations and corporate matters.
- Represent the Group before the Courts, Tribunals or other judicial administrative or public authorities or in relation with any other physical or legal persons.
- Contribute towards raising awareness amongst the business units as to the legal risks to the Company and the critical need to take proactive measures to mitigate the Group's potential exposure.
- Conduct legal research to keep abreast of all relevant changes of laws and advise management on the required changes and impact to business operations.
- Participate in any meetings of the Group's representative with clients, business partners etc.
- Liaison with relevant Government offices and other competent authorities, if necessary.
- To secure compliance of business operations with relevant laws and regulations and to identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk and develop/implement corrective action plans.
- Take decisive actions on various legal matters and assess contentious and uncontroversial issues.
- Ensure collaborative objectives are achieved with various internal stakeholders in relation to internal audit, internal control, risk management, process improvement and efficiency.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Superior or Senior Management from time to time.
- Candidate must possess at least a Degree in Law and admitted to the Malaysian Bar with minimum 7-8 years post qualification working experience, preferably in a real property development company.
- In-depth knowledge of real property development industry, practices and regulations and experience in commercial law (especially properties, companies business) and good understanding / working knowledge of corporate law.
- A self starter with innate drive for achievement and ability to work independently / thrives under pressure.
- To attend to all legal issues, provide legal advice and support to the Group, department and subsidiary company in all legal matters.
- Conducting legal research and to keep abreast of laws.
- Must possess a good command of written and spoken English.
- Ability to converse in Mandarin will be an added advantage.
