About the Company

Our client will require you to directly manage their relationships with Government stakeholders in the country and collaborate with the cross-functional teams. You will develop, manage, communicate and implement strategy and plans critical for the success of the company and analyze trends, assessing their impact on company operations in Malaysia and where applicable implications on the region.

Job Responsibilities

• Driving sustained relationships at the federal and state level and helping to develop brand trust with Government, industry associations and academia stakeholders and communities.
• Developing a framework for public affairs practice in Malaysia and where required provide guidance to other team members on approach and interactions with relevant Government departments to achieve a long-term collaborative relationship with the Government.
• Monitoring political environment and reforms including policy, regulatory and legislations and developing analysis and strategic responses where relevant to the company and the industry. Provide updates and advice to team members of resulting impact if any on operations.
• Leading and managing relationships with strategic stakeholders across industry associations and the Government including relevant Ministries and agencies in alignment with companys objectives including uplifting companys visibility in industry groups.
• Engaging with MCMC, MCCC and other relevant Ministries and government agencies to pursue companys visibility, grants and incentive schemes, partnership opportunities, pilot projects relevant to the business and non-financial benefits.
• Supporting management and working closely and collaboratively with Business Leaders and Legal to achieve business goals and objectives.
• Leading key projects, developing and maintaining beneficial and proactive relationships with key public stakeholders as the representative of the company and where required, secure Government support for our business growth.

Job Requirements

• Min a Degree and 10+ years of relevant experience working in Government and/or government affairs matters relating to the logistics and supply chain sectors, particularly on issues relating to express industry.
• Demonstrated experience working with senior government executives and Government stakeholders. Strong ability to network across Government and public affairs associates proactively and with integrity.
• Masterful at integrating business strategy with public policy and ability to collaborate effectively across multi stakeholders to drive results and business goals.
• Works independently and maintains a good standing and rapport with the Government stakeholders and industry groups.
• Direct experience working in Government and Public Affairs in Malaysia.
