Key Responsibilities

Database Design and Implementation:

Design and implement database solutions based on business requirements and system specifications.
Collaborate with software developers to ensure seamless integration between applications and databases.

Database Administration

Perform routine and proactive database administration tasks, including monitoring, backup, and recovery.
Optimize database performance through tuning, indexing, and query optimization.

Security And Compliance

Implement and maintain security measures to protect sensitive data within the databases.
Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry best practices.

Data Migration And Integration

Plan and execute data migration tasks between different database systems or versions.
Integrate databases with other systems and applications to facilitate data flow.

Troubleshooting And Issue Resolution

Identify and resolve database-related issues promptly to minimize downtime.
Collaborate with other IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve system and application issues.

Documentation

Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
Create and update documentation for database-related processes and best practices.

Performance Monitoring And Reporting

Monitor database performance metrics and generate regular reports for analysis.
Provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.

Collaboration With Development Teams

Work closely with software development teams to understand database requirements for new projects.
Support the development lifecycle, including testing and deployment activities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Database Specialist or Database Administrator in the banking or financial services industry.
In-depth knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL.
Experience with NoSQL databases is a plus.
Strong SQL scripting and query optimization skills.
Familiarity with database security protocols and compliance standards.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Effective communication and collaboration skills.
