    Description

    Responsibilities:

    • Present the status of initiatives and tasks undertaken by the Finance Department to the Programme Steering Committee (PSC) with regards to the BREX project
    • Review the project budget, including fee structures
    • Analyse outgoing expenses to ensure project progresses as intended and within the allocated budget
    • Manage cost, monitor and report on variances between budgeted and actual costs
    • Monitor project cash flows and the utilisation of banking facilities by working closely with the Treasury Team
    • Provide Project Team with timely financial reports, actual costs information, budgets and cash flow forecasts
    • Support the project team with regards to the checking and drafting of contracts with suppliers
    • Negotiate with suppliers for better payment terms and discounts
    • Provide advice to the Project Team with regards to tax matters (e.g. withholding tax, import duty, sales tax, imported service tax, etc.)
    • Handle applications for tax incentives/grants by liaising with various government authorities (e.g. MIDA/MITI, LHDN, MOF, etc.)
    • Liaise with tax agents/consultants/advisers/lawyers/company secretary
    • Obtain approval for supplier invoices
    • Process approved supplier invoices for posting and payments
    • Process any provision and accrual journal entries when necessary
    • Manage and track all supplier invoices to ensure completeness, investigate project expenses with no invoices from suppliers
    • Conduct transfers of project assets
    • Ensuring adequate insurance coverage (e.g. erection all risks insurance, etc.)
    • Create and submit government reports and tax returns related to projects
    • Compile information for internal and external auditors, as required

    Requirements:

    • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree/Post Gradaute Diploma/Professional Degree in Finance/Accounting/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent/
    • 5 years of relevant experience in the related field preferably in manufacturing industry.
    • Comfortable working on both routine and ad-hoc requirements
    • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
    • Has a natural attention to detail and accuracy
    • Energetic, insightful with strong influencing traits and a good team player
    • Able to handle pressure and work independently
