    About the Role

    Responsible for resolving acceptance and the associated rates and benefits of the insurance applications based on guidelines set for the issuance of AIA insurance policies.

    Manage reviews, appeals, complaints and risk assessment portfolio.

    Maintain underwriting qualities, and support to relevant distribution channels. Provide customer friendly decision.
    Handle assigned portfolio efficiently.

    Roles and Responsibilities

  • To review and underwrite complicated case and achieve high settlement ratio. To evaluate and countersigning cases recommended by the junior underwriter, to make prudent business-focused decisions efficiently and timely. To ensure Turn-Around-Time and service level is efficiently handled.
  • Engage with business peers/partners and act as professional to liaise with Bankers/Life Planners
  • To provide technical consultation/advice. Provide solution and guide bankers/ agent to get the case finalized
  • Priority consultation and underwriting services for Bankers/Life Planners Able to conduct Underwriting workshop/Clinic/roadshow.
  • Involved in Compliance screening related tasks and ensure continuous compliance of regulations/ procedures set for Customer Onboarding Department. Provide top priority service to all complaint cases.
  • To maintain & build good working relationship with all levels, including agency force relating to their cases, underwriting rules and procedures and other supporting Departments, colleagues, Supervisors to achieve the common objectives/goals of the Department & Company.
  • To perform other responsibilities and duties this may be assigned from time to time by the Section Head/HOD in order to meet operational and/or other requirements.
  • Minimum Job Requirements

  • Possess a tertiary qualification preferably in Medical Science or equivalent experience.
  • Preferably with at least 3-5 years working experience in Life Insurance Industry in medical and financial underwriting, legal aspect of life insurance.
  • Able to share any ideas, suggestion or guidelines clearly with the team.
  • Able to build good relationship & trust at all levels.
  • Right demeanour & ability to produce high quality work under pressure
