Position Summary

Principal Responsibilities

• Stay current on industry trends and advancements in material science
• Researching suitable alternate materials and verifying specification and standards
• Advice new processes needed when applying new proposed materials
• Conducting initial quality tests on new materials and provide reports and recommendations.
• Evaluating supplier's competency on material knowledge for future support.
• Work with suppliers for improvements, seeking ways to optimize processes through material characteristics
• Staying updated with new industrial trend and technologies, including environment & sustainability trend.
• Analyse performance of materials in various production testing to find suitability for manufacturing processes on a large scale
• Advice APAC procurement stakeholders on any existing materials that will be a risk to Teleflex on future supply and risk to environment.
• Scope – covers all Procurement related projects in APAC sites.
  
  

Education / Experience Requirements

Qualification

: Degree in Materials Science or related field.

Experience

: Min 3 years experience working with various materials such as but not limited to, resins such as PVC/ABS/EVA/PP, packaging materials, etc

: Involved in materials investigation or testing in extrusion, injection molding and other industrial processes.

: Min 3 years experience working with operations/engineering to implement new processes related to new material introduction.

: Familiar with techniques in analysing and testing of materials

: 1-3 years Laboratory experience

: Good in communication and report writing

: Good presentation skill
