    Description

    Provide support to our entities in the South East Asia region with a focus on Legal, Compliance, Corporate Governance, and Insurance.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

    Legal

    1) Corporate governance: Assist in corporate secretarial matters.

    2) Contract review: Reviewing, proofreading, and drafting commercial contracts (freight forwarding and logistics services, agency, tenancy, tenders, etc.).

    3) Legal disputes: Support the resolution of litigation matters by assisting in document collection and coordination with internal stakeholders.

    4) Legal research: Conduct legal research to provide insightful analysis and summaries on a wide range of legal matters relevant to freight forwarding, warehousing and logistics industry

    5) Maintain organized and up-to-date records of legal documents, corporate secretarial documents, contracts and agreements, ensuring easy retrieval and accessibility.

    6) Drafting reports for contracts management and uploading contracts and corporate secretarial documents to GaLexy and Legal Sharepoint.

    7) Contribute to the development and implementation of legal training programs and initiatives to enhance legal awareness among company employees in the region.

    Compliance

    8) Trade and International Sanctions: Support the South East Asia Legal and Compliance Team on the management of Trade and International Sanctions. To assist in reviewing shipments on the necessary platform(s).

    9) Compliance trainings for the organization: Contribute to the development and implementation of compliance training programmes.

    Insurance

    In cooperation with the local business units and the Regional Insurance / Claims Team, oversee the following insurance-related matters:

    10) Support claims handling and declaration to the group insurance broker.

    11) Follow up on local insurance policies.

    12) Contribute to the development and implementation of claims and insurance trainings.


    Miscellaneous

    13) Handle any other duties (whether legal, compliance, insurance, or otherwise) as assigned.

    Requirements

    · Bachelor's Degree in law from a recognized law institution

    · At least 2 years of relevant experience in a law firm or in-house environment

    · Knowledge of general contract law

    · Knowledge of corporate governance and corporate secretarial matters

    · Good drafting and negotiation skills

    · Organization skills with ability to monitor follow-through

    · Ability to navigate legal and regulatory landscape

    · Good legal research skills

    · Team player with commitment and drive to succeed in an enterprising corporate environment
