    About the role

    What you need to know:

    Purpose of the role: To provide leadership to the Claim line of business network including setting, implementing and executing strategies aligned to AIG Claims objectives. The purpose of this role is to manage the cluster team for a line of business through a network of in-cluster Major Loss and Complex Examiners, while supporting the Cluster/Regional/Global LOB Head of Claims in the wider strategic management of the LOB claims response.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Functional Responsibilities:


    •Managing the performance of the LOB Major Loss and Complex Examiners (including Complex Team Managers, where applicable), as well as acting as a cluster strategic and tactical enforcer.


    •Acting as key liaison and referral point for all business stakeholders, and when required, with other senior management such as country GM/CEO


    •Keeping the (LOB) Cluster/Regional/Global Head of Claims advised of key loss developments and wider trends


    •Being the key (LOB) contact for Cluster/Global/Regional (LOB) claims colleagues and other senior stakeholders


    •Being the key relationship manager for all LOB Claims staff, particularly regarding service queries


    •Being a key contact and escalation point for multi-national / major account / select clients


    •Cascading financial authority to Major Loss units, and to Complex units through Complex Team Managers, where applicable


    •Cascading and championing all strategic initiatives within the Major Loss unit and Complex Team Managers


    •Leading the team of cross-class segment claims thought leaders, differentiating AIG through technical expertise


    •Delivering a high standard of service and operating to agreed service levels


    •Driving for innovation in claims service and process improvement

    2. Accountabilities:


    •Effective resolution of line of business claims; accurate and consistent reserving and financial control of claims


    •Mitigation of indemnity and expense spend in claims; effective management / control of GOE budget within LOB


    •Performance manage the team to maximize best practice compliance and minimize lost economic opportunity within LOB claims


    •Personal Development / Succession Planning for individuals within LOB team


    •Managing compliance with governance standards and regulatory requirements within LOB team


    •Effective communication of LOB performance to all relevant stakeholders


    •Key liaison point between the Major Loss team and Complex Team Managers, where applicable

    Identification and communication of environmental risks relevant to LOB


    •Completion of periodic claims audit / review of claims teams across the region


    •Maintain 'Best Practice' guidelines for the (LOB) team


    •Ensure team has required skills and knowledge to meet current and future challenges of the business
