- Ensure that nominated people (at branch level) have the relevant skills.
- Ensure that the use of tools and processes is properly mastered by his/her teams.
- Implement the strategy for assigned perimeter.
- Set up and focus on operations optimization.
- Accepting and checking the instructions, information, and documents that enable the customs declaration to be made, in compliance with the regulations.
- Determining and assigning a classification in accordance with the regulations and customs procedures, which enables the amount of the duties and levies (the customs payment) to be established.
- Consulting the information system or the official documentation, in order to determine the documents to produce.
- Drawing up and entering the declaration in the internal and/or external system, in order to prepare, and then submit the declaration.
- Providing all the information required by the Customs Authorities: acting as an interface between the company and the customs authorities.
- Delivering the necessary documents and the declaration to the Customs Clerk, in the event of an inspection or a physical check on the goods.
- Assisting with and taking part in the physical checks on goods carried out by the Customs Authority, if required.
- Advising on, and determining our positions and/or decisions on customs and formalities for the international movement of goods with customers or internal contact persons.
- In the event that a customer rejects our proposed position regarding the customs tariffs for goods, noting the rejection and the position on the goods adopted by that customer and find a solution.
- Playing a support role in the implementation of new regulations.
- Providing technical support to the sales staff when they canvass and visit customers regarding Customs matters.
- Informing relevant internal and external parties about changes to customs regulations.
- Keep updated on new trade compliance rules, etc.
- Carrying out any other request made by their manager.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in customs matters
