    VACANCY ADVERTISEMENT

    Position : CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER (CFO)

    Category / Grade : Top Management

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Responsible to oversee the overall financial operations of the commission which includes guiding its financial strategy, planning, implementing, managing and maintaining its fiscal stability. The CFO will collaborate with the management team and other key stakeholders to establish long term and short term goals, strategies, plans and policies including business planning, budgeting, forecasting, risk and governance.

    ROLES:

    Financial Management: Manage the Commission's financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and auditing. Ensure that the financial transactions, policies, and procedures meet the Commission's short and long-term business objectives and are conducted in accordance with its mandate, regulations, accounting principles, and standards.

    Strategic Planning: Develop and implement the financial strategy of the commission. This includes long-term financial planning and forecasting, risk management, and investment strategies.

    Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and communication of monthly and annual financial statements. Ensure the timely reporting of key financial data and updates to the CEO, Board of Directors, and other key stakeholders.

    Risk Management and Compliance: Ensure oversight on financial risk management, legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions. This includes tax planning and compliance to all related regulations.

    Value Creation & Business Process Re-Engineering : Consider revenue opportunities, cost optimisation and process enhancements within the organisation for economic, effective and efficient administration.

    Leadership: Lead the finance team to ensure ongoing professional development and training. As a member of the executive management team, participate in key decision making in regards to financial matters and be the key management member to engage with financial stakeholders.

    Any other duties as assigned by the CEO or the Commission

    REQUIREMENTS:

    · Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Finance / Accounting / Economy/ Business Administration or related field equivalent from a Univeristy accredited by the Government alongside with a certification like ACCA / CMA and or CPA. Those with MBA qualification will have an added advantage;

    · Minimum fifteen (15) years' experience in related field, with extensive experience in senior financial managerial roles and proven track record;

    · Excellent knowledge of data analysis, risk management and forecasting methods;

    · Excellent command of both written and spoken Bahasa Malaysia and English;

    · Strong leadership and organizational skills;

    · Possess a positive outlook, disciplined and results-oriented;

    · Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity;

    · Proactive with strong networking and relationship building skills; and

    · Applicants with knowledge and experience in electricity and piped-gas supply industry under the purview of the Energy Commission in accordance with the relevant Acts and Regulations shall have an added advantage.
