    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    What you will do:
    The Project Manager will manage projects starting from project initialization to project completion to ensure delivery meet project schedule, budget and quality - will need to co-ordinate with respective Leads across various phases of project including testing (such as SIT, UAT, Performance Test, etc) and deployment.

    The Project Manager is responsible for establishing a project organization structure and perform management of project resources - will lead a project team which consists of team members in various teams such as Architecture, Engineering, Operations and Support, business users, etc in a matrix organization structure.

    The Project Manager is responsible to determine project timeline intra-dependencies, for example in terms of resources and timelines of various inter-related projects.

    The Project Manager is responsible for managing project risks/issues with risk/issue mitigation steps and communicate with project stakeholders - will be responsible to appropriately escalate project issues to the PMO leadership, HODs and Project Steering Committee (if applicable for the project). The PMO will be responsible to work with the Project Manager to ensure timely closure of the escalated issue.

    The Project Manager is responsible for performing Project Deliverable reviews as and when required to check on quality of deliverables - will be responsible for instituting controls / governance into Projects such as through issue management, risk management and periodic status reports to Steering Committee and stakeholders.

    The Project Manager will also assist in the enhancement of the Project Management methodology / guideline for PMO to continuously improve best practices adoption in the team.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
    1. Manage and track project plans and prioritisation of projects
    2. Manage projects to deliver the systems solutions to the business unit in accordance with agreed specifications, scope, budget and timeline
    3. Work with business lead to assess business impact and track business readiness alongside technical readiness
    4. Track and drive issues / risks and their resolution / mitigation steps
    5. Manage change requests and their associated costs during the project phase
    6. Manage project stakeholders and Project Owner/Champion
    7. Institute controls / governance into Projects to ensure adherence to Astro policies
    8. Perform due diligence to ensure that quality of project deliverables are of acceptable standards through reviews and acceptance tests
    9. Highlight cross-project and /or program dependencies and liaise with other Project Managers and stakeholders if necessary, in managing such dependencies
    10. Periodic statue update to stakeholders and Project Owner/Champion
    11. Ensure project team are motivated and recognised from their contribution
    12. Provide performance feedback of project team members to functional managers
    13. Where conflicts arise between project team, vendors, Project Owner/Champion, SMEs, etc, to act as a mediator to resolve these conflicts

    REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 3 years project management experience delivering medium complexity projects, i.e. In a leadership delivery role managing a project teams of 10 or more, involving > 5 business functional areas, and project value of > RM2m
  • Experience in delivering projects that cover technical and business readiness
  • Applied knowledge of project management principles and methodologies (Agile and waterfall)
  • Strong understanding of scheduling standards, critical path methodology and project management tools such as MS Project
  • A teamplayer that can drive stakeholders from various department to work towards a common goal
  • Has prior experience in dealing with executive management teams (CxOs)
  • Consistent track record of recognition for high performance from employers
