    Description

    This position is for K2 Data Centres, a company under Kuok (Singapore) Limited, based in Malaysia.

    Purpose of the Role:

    The Project Manager role serve as a Project delivery management and oversight of construction related activities for new builds or general capital projects. Evaluate project risk on design intent/purpose, delivery programme and cost optimization. Manage and coordination on and off-site activities of project delivery teams which include consultants, suppliers, and contractors and ensure we deliver on our project safe and on time.

    Responsibilities

    This role entails:

    • Relationship development and management with regulatory authorities relevant to K2 data centre project(s)
    • Develop and maintain project programmes and risk registers for all projects and packages. Project delivery includes chairing meetings, keeping accurate records, ensuring safety, monitoring, and status/driving programmes.
    • Responsible for communicating with design consultants to ensure all required deliverables are achieved.
    • Monitor construction activities closely on a regular basis and ensure the data centre facility is built to K2 standard including quality control, safety, health, and risk management.
    • Personally conduct job-site inspections to ensure projects are adhering to specifications and design intent
    • Responsible for project commissioning and final handover.
    • Manage and plan facility team's daily works to ensure all relevant design, construction and maintenance activities are carried out as per K2's requirement.
    • Ensure all relevant engineering and operation procedures are followed by the site team.
    • Perform other duties as assigned or instructed.

    Working environment entails

    • Walking job sites which have areas of uneven terrain.
    • Work at heights.
    • Regularly lift and/or move items and participate in group lifts.
    • Work shifts longer than eight hours in duration.
    • Co-ordinate body movements when using tools or equipment.
    • May require bending or twisting the body to access equipment while working.
    • Involves performing physical tasks all day.
    • Push or pull objects into position.
    • Work in a noisy environment.
    • Work in confined spaces.

    • Skills set and Qualifications Requirements
    • Bachelor's in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering
    • Chartered Engineer preferred
    • Relevant Uptime/TIA certificates preferred
    • 10 years' minimum working experience in building services design and construction project delivery (data centre projects preferred).
    • Good knowledge in Electrical/Mechanical HV/LV distribution Engineering with a good understanding on data centre project and protection study
    • Proficiency in MS Office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc) with experience in Electrical/Mechanical HVAC software, such as IES.
    • Good command of written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia. Additional language such as Chinese will be an advantage.
