    Job Purpose

    As the Key Regional Relationship Manager, you will be responsible for the overall relationship for the exclusive partnership with the bank across both Life and General Insurance in Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Sri Lanka, and the Philippines. The role involves managing the internal and external stakeholders to achieve company-wide targets for the Key Bank partnerships. The role is of crucial strategic importance as this Key Bank is one of AZAP's largest accounts on the life side and alignment with their regional office is pivotal to our success.

    Key Responsibilities


    • Develop the strategic direction and growth strategy for the partnership in Asia Pacific in coordination with the regional executive management as well as country management to achieve the Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and growth in revenue.


    • Manage the bank relationship regionally including running the Regional Steering Committee, engaging in country Operating Committees, following up of opportunities with individual markets and ensuring contractual obligations are met on both sides.


    • Work with country CEO's, Chief Distribution Officers and Heads of Bancassurance to successfully achieve targeted results for the partnerships. This includes establishing clear governance processes, monthly formal internal reviews and meetings with partners at working and steering committee levels.


    • Build and execute best practice blueprints to ensure optimization of the partnership.


    • Work with other channels to leverage practices which may enhance results in the bank partnerships.


    • Work with the OE's to ensure that we comply with the relevant legislation, guidelines and codes of the regulators as well as the internal compliance guidelines.


    • Proactively keeping abreast of market trends and competitor's products so as to be able to create and articulate a regional business plan with a clear competitive advantage for the Company's Life products distributed via the bank channel.


    • Review and sign off on regional plans in tandem with the Head of Bancassurance for specific agreed initiatives between bank and the Company.


    • Conduct regular meetings and communication sessions with the bank and local key account managers to enhance the product competency and to obtain internal alignments, thus building a long term, strong and trusting relationship over time.


    • Collaborate with the internal stakeholders to ensure that product development cycle and gating disciplines incorporates the feedback and ideas of the bank sales force and their customers with the goal of improving our product offers regionally.

    Key Requirements


    • Degree qualified (Master's degree), with at least 15 years of experience predominantly in the Life insurance industry.


    • Experience across the different parts of the insurance value chain in a Life setting would be an advantage.


    • Ability to provide leadership to the business and someone who is seen and respected as an expert and leader.


    • Proactive and results orientated.


    • Strong communicator with proven ability at exercising cross-functional and cross-market influence.


    • Solid budget, resource and project management skills.


    • Excellent relationship & stakeholder management ability.
