    Description

    Job Purpose:
    To assist Unit Head / HOD to follow up on legal action, release of approved claim monies fromescrow and recovery on claim approved / paid accounts with the participating FinancialInstitutions (FIs) under schemes managed by Syarikat Pembiayaan Perniagaan Berhad(SJPP) to maximize recovery and to handle special cases involving legal action which affectsSJPP.

    Responsibilities:

    • Once claims are approved and paid or placements are paid into escrow by Finance uponinstructions from Claims unit, LRA to take over the monitoring and follow up with Finance /FIs for further developments and to ensure legal action against all parties for claimsapproved accounts are fully exhausted.
    • To manage the release of approved claim monies from escrow by reviewing FIs requestand documents for compliance, verifying the actual amount to be paid, preparing PaymentRequest Form to Finance for HOD clearance and letter to FI upon payment and ensuringrelevant databases and files are updated.
    • Regularly update Head / Claims Unit on progress and alert pertinent (eg. R&R) / adversedevelopments (eg. legal challenge by FIs / security parties / customers against SJPP) forrisk management purposes and if necessary, report to Risk Dept.
    • Conduct regular follow ups with FIs for recovery on claims paid.
    • Manage and verify the supporting documents provided by FIs on share of recoveryproceeds with SJPP.
    • Expeditiously update HOD and Finance on any collections received.
    • Prepare the relevant monthly Committee reports for HODs review and clearance (eg. legalaction status for unutilized claims and recovery on claims paid).
    • Establish rapport with FIs relevant personnel and departments to facilitate follow ups bySJPP.
    • To manage documentation of DPGS Sales and Purchase Agreement / subrogation onceclaim approved.
    • Establish rapport with solicitors to facilitate obtaining external legal advice.
    • Manage special legal cases and liaise with Prokhas Legal, review and make necessaryrecommendation / updates for managements consideration and direction.
    • Effectively handle communication with FIs, including attending to FIs queries, conductingpresentations and handlemeetings with FIs representatives, solicitors and customers.
    • To undertake any other assignment / work assigned by your superiors

    Requirement:

    • At least a Degree in any discipline but preferably in Law, business, finance or related disciplineor professional qualifications
    • Well versed in legal processes with at least 10 years legal / recovery / monitoring experiencein a Corporate / Commercial Bankingenvironment, and some experience in managing a team.
