    Description

    Siemens Digital Industries Software is a leading provider of solutions for the design, simulation, and manufacture of products across many different industries. Formula 1 cars, skyscrapers, ships, space exploration vehicles, and many of the objects we see in our daily lives are being conceived and manufactured using our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.

    Our Finance Team is looking for a Senior Accountant to be based in Penang. This role will be reporting to our SEA Finance Manager.

    Responsibilities:

    Closing activities

    • Timely, accurate month end closing and financial reporting
    • Preparation of Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss schedule and escalate potential issues to FM
    • Work closely with shared services team to ensure adherence to Siemens Financial Reporting Guidelines

    Accounts Payable/ Discrepancy Resolution

    • Review AP aging report in the system on a regular basis and monitors outstanding/ overdue payments
    • Liaise with procurement team if there are PO variations to resolve differences between invoice and PO amount
    • Preparations of payments to vendors/staff claims
    • Responsible for resolving vendor issues (eg. Delay in payments) and identifying vendor invoice discrepancies and initiates dispute resolution process

    Intercompany

    • Coordinate annual SLAs exercise
    • Responsible for intercompany cost-plus recharge
    • Timely and accurate invoicing for intercompany – reimbursement & disbursement
    • Intercompany invoices validation and acceptance, resolve discrepancies and initiates dispute resolution process.

    Fixed Asset Management

    • Maintain fixed asset register
    • Provide advice and guidance to departments on fixed assets policies and procedures
    • Co-ordinate fixed asset count at least annually
    • Ensure assets are properly capitalized/depreciated/amortized

    Tax Reporting and compliance

    • Preparation of SST/WHT report for submission
    • Maintain the WHT schedule – Intercompany & external parties
    • Assist in corporate tax filing and annual return

    Other matters

    • Preparation of audit, support external and internal audit
    • Perform other ad-hoc duties assigned by superiors

    Requirements:

    • Minimum education as Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, ACCA
    • At least five (5) years of working experience in a similar position
    • Knowledge of SAP is an added advantage
    • Good knowledge of accounting standards, taxation and other regulatory financial reporting requirements
    • High level of integrity and result-oriented
    • A team player and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
    • A positive thinker, pro-active, energetic and takes initiative to complete tasks timely
