    Description

    General Summary:

    Manager - Material Control is in charge of inventory management . He/She is responsible to effectively control the company inventory and oversee the inventory level to support company operation and profitability. Salary budget for this role would be RM10,000 + Transport allowances + meal allowance.

    Principal Responsibilities:

    General:

    • To lead the operation of material planning and store team.
    • To develops strategies to enhance overall inventory management, through identification of key problem areas and establishing action plans for improvement.
    • To champion projects on process improvement/optimization, material substitution and system integration/automation.
    • To establish inventory control and material management plan.
    • To recommend solutions and integration to improve overall operation efficiency and productivity.
    • To manage staffs and evaluating the performance of all direct reporting subordinates including goal setting process, planning, training and professional development.
    • To lead company stocks take activity.
    • Budgeting, CAPEX and administrative control of department.
    • Tasks assigned by Sr. Supply Chain Manager to support Supply Chain operation.

    Material Planning:

    • Oversee material planning, and work closely with Purchasing, store, logistics and production to achieve the target set in the KPIs metrics.
    • To attend Factory Order Review weekly meeting to ensure the Production Plan meeting customer expectation, lead time and schedule.
    • To implement forecast mechanism and derive material forecast to meet production loading.
    • To ensure that material required are in stock and available on time.
    • To ensure stock inventory always fall within organizations cost and quantity constraints.
    • Interface with Purchasing and Production department to ensure on time material delivery.
    • Review material requirement and forecast summary periodically and implementing Push/Pull system process accordingly.
    • To lead slow moving inventory reduction program.

    Store:

    • Oversees store operation for efficient and effective stock handling, dispatch and/or stock control procedure.
    • Develops performance evaluations and implements Store operation goals and objectives.
    • To champion store operation improvement plans.
    • To ensure store procedures are updated and the flows of material according to company QSP requirements.
    • To review system inventory updates, monthly reports, cycle count and stock check to maintain the inventory accuracy at satisfactory level.

    Authority:

    • Access of information for company sales forecast/ pipeline projects, production loading info for material and safety stock planning purpose.
    • Access of material purchased price, procurement agreement/policy and related transaction documents for inventory cost impact.
    • Access of production such as overhead cost information, labor rate if necessary.
    • Approve/reject Order requisition (OR) for materials/components used in company's products.
    • Defer/reject Sales orders that are not approved (clean) to be load into production/planning schedule.
    • To liaise with Production Planning to revise production schedule/priority where necessary.
    • To demand forecast from Sales department.
    • To approve/reject standard material stocking.
    • To recommend and appoint other departments personnel for formation of improvement projects.
    • To get resources from other sections for ongoing projects.
    • To consult and advise Top management for factory operational and supply chain related matters.
