    Job Purpose and Impact

    The Trade Compliance Excellence Senior Supervisor will meet complex cross border trade requirements, including sensitive customs data and ensure compliance with applicable government laws and regulations in the assigned geography. In this role, you will lead a team to implement a customs control framework, strategize and coordinate external audits and litigation and provide customs advice.

    Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the implementation of customs data projects, special trade programs and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the implementation of complex technical customs planning solutions to assemble the customs benefits and mitigate the risks.
  • Contribute to the development, definition and implementation of global trade compliance strategies and projects.
  • Develop and monitor complex guidelines, tools, templates and instructions to ensure compliance of cross border trade processes and sensitized customs data.
  • Use broad technical customs knowledge to guide the team on import and export compliance and form team's capability on external queries, ruling and audits, including focus on cross border trade compliance processes, customs valuation and classification.
  • Guide businesses and regional or local teams on trade compliance operations requirements, standards and best practices to facilitate imports and exports, including sensitized customs data determination and management using risk based guidance from other functional teams.
  • Monitor metrics, manage data and analyze risk trends to ensure control for trade compliance operations.
  • Lead and develop a team, coach and make decisions related to talent management, hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions.

  • Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Confirmed knowledge of international commercial terms
  • Advanced knowledge on customs regulations, related system classification, customs valuation and trade agreements
  • Tax knowledge and understanding
  • Legal contractual analysis
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience
  • Other minimum qualifications may apply
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years of supervisory experience
  • Licensed Customs Broker, trade related specialization or license or certification
  • Demonstrated people leadership across multiple geographies and cultures
  • Tax compliance knowledge and understanding
  • World Customs Organization (WCO) accredited Harmonized System (HS) expert trainer
