    Job Summary

    To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Tooling Engineer located in Bukit Minyak, Penang.

    What a typical day looks like:

  • Through troubleshooting, identifies tooling failures and improves mold performance trough process improvement.
  • Improves molds in the most cost-effective manner.
  • Performs preventive maintenance at specified intervals and schedules.
  • Assists Tooling Manager with the installation and removal of process equipment.
  • Analyzes and implements corrective action reports and tracking mechanisms for mold.
  • Records times and problems in equipment logs.
  • Provides daily tooling activity / performance information.
  • Sets up standard and special machine and test equipment related to injection molds.
  • Disassembles instruments and equipment and inspects components for defects where needed.
  • Devises processes to solve problems in molds.
  • Assists engineers in formulating test, calibration, repair and evaluation plans and procedures to maintain precision accuracy of molding equipment.
  • May require travel to other Flex sites or equipment vendors' locations.
  • Highest level may perform both software and hardware maintenance.
  • The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • Typically requires an Associate's Degree in related field, technical training or equivalent education and training.
  • Typically requires 5 years of related experience and/or trade knowledge.
  • Preferably should have worked in Medical molding / tooling industry
