    Role Description

    This is a full-time on-site role as an EHS Executive located in Penang. As an EHS Executive, you will be responsible for various day-to-day tasks related to Environment Health and Safety (EHS). This includes ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, promoting environmental awareness, managing occupational health initiatives, and conducting training programs. Additionally, you will contribute to the development and implementation of EHS policies and procedures within the organization.

    Key Accountabilities :

    1. Oversee Environmental Performance
    • To optimize the WWTP operation
    • To reduce the amount of schedule waste generated
    • To prepare compliance reports for regulators (OER system and eSWIS system)
    • To ensure scrubber and dust collector performance are monitored
    • To ensure continual compliance to laws and regulations stated by Malaysian's Department of Environment.

    2. Manage Fire Safety

    • To manage OKK (ERT)
    • To manage firefighting equipment
    • To conduct fire evacuation
    • To promote fire safety awareness among employees
    • To ensure continual compliance to Fire Services Act 1988 (Act 341)

    3. Review and Manage Workplace Conditions and Practices to Ensure Occupational Safety of All Workers

    • To conduct safety and health risk assessment and enforce preventative measures at workplace (HIRARC)
    • To maintain the Chemical Register and to ensure the chemical management are compliance to Occupational Safety and Health (Use and Standard of Exposure Chemical Hazardous to Health) Regulations 2000
    • To record and investigate accident and near miss incidents
    • To evaluate PPE and ensure proper use and maintenance of PPE
    • To promote safety and health awareness among workers through series of program and training activities
    • Review existing policies and measures and update according to legislation (OSHA, FMA)

    Other Responsibilities

    1. Engage in EPMC and Safety & Health Committee as the secretary
    • To be the secretary of EPMC and Safety & Health Committee meeting
    • To review monthly environmental performance monitoring data
    • To review risk assessments regarding Safety & Health
    • To assist in planning and implementing corrective actions

    2. Coordinate 3R (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) Initiatives in the Company

    • Develop waste prevention strategies
    • To plan and organize environmental awareness trainings or programs
    • To deal with recycling service provider

    3. Assist on awareness and training of Management System

    • To assist superior to ensure all employees are aware management system's policies
    • To promote and raise awareness, at all levels of an organization, of the impact of emerging environmental, safety and health issues.
    • To follow up, monitor and feedback the effectiveness any management system programs as instructed by superior

    4. Carry out management system internal audit

    To conduct internal audit for management system (QMS) as according to plan

    Requirements:

    1. Bachelor's degree in any science or engineering field.
    2. Familiar with Environmental management system (ISO14001:2015) and Occupational Safety and Health Management System (ISO 45001:2018)
    3. Familiar in regulatory requirement on the environment management such as Environmental Quality Act 1974 (Act 127), Environmental Quality (Scheduled Wastes) Regulations 2005, Environmental Quality (Industries Effluent) Regulations 2009, Environmental Quality (Clean Air) Regulations 2014, etc.
    4. Familiar with regulatory requirements on Safety and Health management such as under Factory and Machinery Act 1967 and Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994, etc.
    5. Familiar in waste water treatment plant operation and troubleshooting.
    6. Good writing proficiency in English and Malay languages

    Licenses & Certifications

    Competence person in

    • Certified Environmental Professional In Industrial Effluent Treatment System (Physical Chemical Processes) (CePIETSO (PCP)).
    • Certified Environmental Processional In Industrial Effluent Treatment System (Biological Processes) (CePIETSO (BP)).
    • Certified Environmental Professional In Scheduled Waste Management (CePSWaM).
    • Certified Safety Officer by DOSH or NIOSH
