    Description

    Job Summary:

  • The SMT Technician is responsible to support proper and continuous operation of SMT equipment within the manufacturing facility. Task include equipment programming / finetuning, tooling design, support technical task such as checklist/record update, rootcause investigation, corrective action implementation and Continuous Improvement (CI).
  • Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support SMT production lines assuring the proper functioning and setup of the equipment.
  • Support on Introduction of New Product (NPI) programs for the Screen Printing, Pick & Place, Reflow Oven and AOI machine.
  • Support new equipment installations, start up and validations.
  • Support on the creation / finetuning of SMT machine program to optimize manufacturing line performance.
  • Support tooling design, ordering and implementation into manufacturing line.
  • Support and execute model change / product conversion activity.
  • Performs daily checklist verification on the proper functioning of equipment.
  • Support and drive rootcause investigation for SMT defects and implementation of corrective action.
  • Follow up of SMT lines output and investigate output reduction due to SMT machine performance or product quality issue.
  • Support and drive Continuous Improvement (CI) program on product yield loss reduction,cycle time improvement, scrap reduction etc.
  • Support Lean processes, continuous improvement projects and initiatives in production and throughout operations.
  • Ensure proper record keeping and maintenance compliant to company guidelines / SOP.
  • Performs other reasonable duties or task assigned by Superior.
  • Minimum & Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Solid understanding and demonstrated experience with diagnostic tools such as multimeters, force gauges, calipers, etc
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • General knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
  • Ability to perform basic data analysis.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certificate / Diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience with PCBA and / or FPCA manufacturing, SMT equipment programming and/or PCBA manufacturing technologies.
  • Knowledge and experience in IPC-A-610 Standard.
  • Ability to read and comprehend Electrical & Electronic schematics
  • > 1 year of experience as a technician (or similar role), within a high-volume manufacturing industry.
  • Education:

    Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, Electrical or Electronics or higher.

    Physical requirements/Work Environment

    This position primarily works in production area environment. Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required. May stand or sit for extended periods and require being able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
