    Description

    The Role

  • Oversee the physical operations of the hotel - PARKROYAL COLLECTION and Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Kuala Lumpur, including maintenance and repair of interior and exterior of buildings, hotel rooms and contents, laundry and kitchen/refrigeration equipment, lighting, heating, air conditioning (HVAC), ventilation, and water treatment systems, and swimming pools.
  • Formulates maintenance policies and operating standards so as to maximize equipment efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Prepare annual budget and Capex for equipment required, major repair and maintenance, and major system modifications.
  • Assist in developing financial forecasts and actively participate in monthly profit/loss review meetings.
  • Reviews and manages controllable expenses such as, heat, light, power, water consumption, tools and equipment, grounds keeping supplies, uniforms, vendors, service agreements, etc.
  • Coach, lead, and inspire engineering team by training and setting clear goals and objectives.
  • Oversees the implementation of energy audit and utility conservation measures.
  • Actively participate in energy conservation programs.
  • Initiates and plans major repairs and modification works and other programs to improve performance of common services.
  • Liaise with local statutory governmental organization with matters pertaining to, including but not limited to, the use of utilities such as water, gas and electricity, licensing, Inspection, testing to satisfy Statutory requirements of all engineering systems.
  • Create and implement preventative maintenance program for all hotel equipment.
  • Ensure all emergency and life safety equipment and systems are inspected, tested and certified per Refinery Hotel standards.
  • Review all guest reviews to ensure problems are identified and corrected in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the administration of all vendor contracts controlled by the engineering department.
  • Ensure that room maintenance requests are handled in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Talent Profile

  • Bachelor of Degree or Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 5 years working experience in a similar role, preferably with premium and/or integrated complex hotel experience.
  • Excellent leadership skills coupled with the composure required to thrive under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong budgetary, projections, and cost control skills.
  • Possesses sharp ability for attention to detail, working efficiently and flexibly.
  • Driven, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Creative and efficient in solving complex, time-critical problems.
