- Ability to offer guest of the bar an enjoyable expertly served beverage experienced conforming to the standards of excellence for quality, professionalism and friendliness.
- Ability to develop a complete working knowledge of the menu items and their ingredients and preparation. Ability to check and recheck the bar during operation.
- To handle cash float and keep bank floats from bar / restaurant.
- Requisite, pick up, verify, and put away all requisitions for beer, spirits, liquors, wines, juices, soft drinks and food items used for the bar areas.
- To stock the bar areas with beer, spirits, liquors, juices, soft drinks, glassware and condiments.
- To develop a complete working knowledge of all products served by the bar, i.e. beers, spirits, liquors, cocktails, specialty drinks, etc.
- Understand the menu and the daily specials as well as what is not available.
- Check and recheck the bar during service.
- Ensure that all details of service are performed properly and that every guest receives the highest quality of service.
- Utilize the bar / restaurant computer system ringing up sales, printing checks, closing checks and completing closing readings.
- Ensure proper pouring, mixing, blending, etc. of drinks.
- Ability to service all drinks for service bar area, guests and the bar area.
- Ensure proper service of all food items to guests.
- Keep the bar area neat and tidy at all times clearing dishes and glassware whenever possible.
- Ensure that the bar is stocked and all side opening and closing duties are completed.
- Greet each guest promptly, courteously, graciously with eye contact, a smile and good posture.
- Ability to change ashtrays, serve cigarettes and wipe down bar area.
- Carry trays, bus and reset tables with linen, china, glass and silver.
- Ascertain a guest's satisfaction and handle any problem, which may arise informing a manager of the problem and how IT was resolved.
- Warm and cheerful personality; energetic and highly motivated
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills, where experience with POS systems would be a plus
