    Be responsible for his discipline's performance within the project. The Principle Instrument Design Engineer has two major key functions: implementing technical competence and managing the team of his discipline within the various gasification projects in Asia.

    This position will function with a larger multi-disciplinary team is to provide comprehensive knowledge of instrument specification/datasheet, DCS/SIS technical specification, instrument selection, flow and valve calculation and sizing, construction drawing, technical bidder evaluation (TBE), material requisition (MR), vender data review, etc.

    Skillful in using and developing SmartPlant Instrumentation (INtools) for instrument design;

    Familiar with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Microstation and VB Script Language;

    Flexible, able to adapt and learn new skills quickly;

    Co-operative, hard-working, and committed to top quality work;

    Project and work activities will primarily be focused on gasification or downstream chemical unit.

    Job Description

    PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

    The LE organizes his discipline and ensures completeness of the discipline's Engineering/Design deliverables, including Basic Engineering Design (BED) and Detailed Engineering Design (DED). Besides his fulltime responsibility for the discipline's engineering, the LE has an overall job responsibility which is not limited to the engineering phase. His ownership reaches until acceptance of the plant. The LE manages the interfaces to other disciplines as well as between own and third-party supplied engineering and material. For the execution of the project, he shall demonstrate technical expertise and the ability to apply innovative concepts and details that are specific to the discipline's deliverables. For the execution of the project, he shall demonstrate, apart from leadership and ownership for HSE, a very strong responsibility for overall cost and schedule. Ensuring quality of engineering documents and material supply according to contract requirements. Providing realistic and reliable forecasts on man-hour consumption, quantities, cost, achievement of milestones and freezing dates. Managing man-hour consumption, quantities, cost, achievement of milestones and freezing dates and deviations. Cooperates with Project Management and all project team members with regard to the respective task assigned. This applies in particular to project execution at several locations. Planning, managing, monitoring, reviewing and approving the discipline's work regarding appropriate quality, project specifications and contractual requirements Analyzing and evaluating technical contract annexes Reviewing the project-specific Instrumentation Discipline Job Manual including all relevant specifications and considering contractual requirements Reviewing philosophies for control and systems integration Reviewing engineering and design criteria for instrumentation and control Reviewing all detailed design documents required for construction. These include cable schedules, cable drum summaries, terminal diagrams, instrument location diagrams, process and pneumatic drawings Contribution to 3D model reviews, HAZOP reviews and SIL classification; Participate in factory acceptance tests for the automation system and similar control packages such as analyzers, environmental monitoring, etc. Reviewing requisitions for instrument materials, equipment and subcontracted services. Reviewing or approval technical bid analyses (comparisons) and documentation of the evaluation process per project requirement. Reviewing fabrication submittals and vendor documentation per project requirement. Compliance with the requirements of the AP Safety Management System for the discipline. Communication and coordination with other disciplines regarding his scope of work and considering the "work flow". Handling site queries as well as responding and supporting sites (including commissioning and startup activities) in an appropriate manner and in good time if necessary. Taking technical decisions during the project execution, in accordance with corporate policies and contract requirements in cooperation with discipline management. Defining manpower requirements (quantity, quality, duration) in line with the project execution strategy. Provide AP project management necessary technical information, directions on new and step out technologies used for control and instrumentation. Any other functional duties as assigned.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    BS/MS or above in Process Automation or Controls Engineering More than 10 years of applicable work experience with process automation, instrumentation and controls and startup and commissioning activities. Experiences in Gasification, Rectisol, Shift reaction and Synthetic Ammonia production are preferred. Experiences in International Engineering Company are also preferred. Proficiency in English, both written and oral communication, Respect for and ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Must be able to demonstrate technical competence in instrumentation, analytical and controls, effective communication skills and a strong team player. Must be self-motivated and solutions driven.
