• Oversee all technical and operational activities in the molding of plastic components and secondary processes in the molding facilities to ensure:
• output volume, product quality and shipment commitments meet targeted levels
• operation complies to customer and system requirements like ISO 9001, ISO 13485 etc.
• Works closely with the Materials Department to ensure planning/purchasing processes and inventories are optimized to meet customers' deliveries and company's goals and budget. Includes:
• Planning of production schedule
• Planning of production materials
• Purchasing of all goods/services and warehousing activities
• Works closely with QA Department to ensure molded components and secondary processes meet customer specifications

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement molding plans and systems to ensure molded products are manufactured within the required cost targets, manufacturing lead time, quality levels and system requirements.
• Facilitate the Molding Engineers and Supervisors within the Molding Department to:
• Ensure all required and relevant records of all processes and inspection are properly done and maintained.
• Ensure mold qualifications and first article submissions are planned and conducted as per customers' requirements.
• Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions for existing and potential problems to ensure all problems are effectively contained, corrected and prevented from recurring.
• Review customer order requirements from marketing/planning to ensure we have the capabilities and capacities before the plant commit to produce the products.
• Ensure optimal deployment of production manpower and machines to meet company's overall objectives.
• Ensure prompt delivery of good quality products to customers.
• Ensure fair and equitable procedures / systems at the shopfloor so as to maintain a high level of motivation and morale among our staff
• Develop, plan and implement Programs to build and develop Engineering Technical expertise and capabilities within the company eg:
• Process Window studies
• IQ,OQ,PQ Validations
• Process and Mold qualification
• Process Troubleshooting
• Systematic evaluation and engineering techniques to qualify new materials and processes.
• Provide management information reports relating to production capacity, production yield and productivity trends etc as requested.
• Ensure molding machines and all auxiliary production equipment, working environment and all facility equipment are properly maintained and good housekeeping standards are maintained at all times.
• Manage the Molding Budget to ensure Department is run efficiently and all expenses like repairs, production consumables, staff over-time etc are managed effectively
