    Airasia Superapp: Senior Legal Counsel (Based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia)

    We are looking for an individual with solid legal foundation and strong business acumen to fill the position of Senior Legal Counsel. Experience in M&A, Corporate Financing, Digital Payment and/or Technology will be highly favorable. You will be part of the regional legal team overseeing the legal and compliance needs of AirAsia Com Travel (a digital subsidiary of AirAsia Group Berhad) that owns and operates the airasia Superapp.

    Accountabilities

  • Identify legal risks and alternative strategies in a defined area.
  • Ensure contractual instruments accurately reflect business and commercial concerns, and are consistent with legal obligations.
  • Proactively monitors for changes in relevant laws and regulations and caters for those changes accordingly.
  • Evaluates business exposure and ways to mitigate risks.
  • Work as part of a team with both internal and external stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Contribute to the team and future legal initiatives with focus on operational excellence, continuous improvement and sustainable culture of change.
  • Supports the day to day challenges across the AirAsia value chain and all classes of business including its local and foreign subsidiaries.

  • What You'll Need:

  • Law degree and professional legal qualification with strong academic background and minimum 7-8 years post-qualification experience working in a law firm or legal department of a medium to large international corporation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly in explaining legal concepts and issues to the business and providing succinct, accurate and comprehensible legal advice.
  • Ability to understand and take account of business drivers and needs, and provide advice with appropriate understanding and interpretation of the business and commercial intentions.
  • Strong influencing, negotiating and facilitation skills.
