    Description

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and champion Edwards' suite of observability tools.
  • Obtain, process, host, and analyze large amounts of telemetry and logging data from an array of different systems.
  • Build useful integrations, self-healing patterns, and other reusable components that engineers can consume.

    • Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science/related field or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of industry experience.
  • Experience with JVM profiling and distributed tracing tools like OpenTelemetry, OpenTracing, Jaeger
  • Experience with large-scale, fault-tolerant distributed systems running in a public cloud environment (i.e. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Experience with containers and orchestration technologies like Kubernetes.
  • Expert-level use of observability tools like Prometheus, Cortex, Grafana, Dynatrace, DataDog, Splunk, etc.
  • In-depth expertise with aggregating logs in a large enterprise setting
  • Past examples in a production setting of issue discovery through automated correlation and anomaly detection
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals in a major industry language (i.e. Python, Go, JavaScript, Java, etc.).
