    JR47313 Manager, Test Engineering

    Responsibilities and Tasks:

    Communicate department goals and provide periodic department updates to review current status and future goals.

  • Identify, manage and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the department.
  • Drive for efficiency in all work processes, removing redundant work
  • Drive for continuous improvement in department key objectives. Eg. Cost, Quality, Cycle Time, productivity.
  • Articulate compelling and inspiring visions and strategies.
  • Foster an environment where innovative thinking and intelligent risk taking is promoted.
  • Manage and monitor costs/headcount within your department according to business plans.
  • Drive innovative, strategic solutions for cost reduction.
  • Ensure the process is in control and quality/reliability of product meets expectation

  • Lead and manage effectiveness and efficiency of all Test processes under the QMS framework. Implement Quality Control Plan / tool
  • Provide the necessary production support
  • Support Customer/ISO/TS audit activities.
  • Ensure qualification of Post Elect equipment and recipe management.
  • Implement inline process controls and improve process capability through SPC (Statistical Process Control).
  • Provide timely and accurate disposition to deviated material while minimizing false triggers.
  • Primarily responsible for equipment transfer, install, setup, buyoff and release to support manufacturing start up

  • Plan, manage and work on resolving equipment line problems, and prepare the manufacturing line for ramp up
  • Lead and responsible to achieve equipment performance
  • Responsible for equipment/tooling/meter and spare part readiness for production loading plan and ramp up
  • Implement Preventive / Predictive maintenance program
  • Responsible for equipment performance key indicators and set goals and drive team to meet expectation
  • Establish team to work on continuous improvement
  • Establish and define spare part inventory system for key equipment
  • Identify the key cost drivers and work on cost reduction programs
  • Accountable for spare part cost and drive down liabilities of spare inventories
  • Report EQ performance to site management.
  • Maintain local procedure, workflow, checklists as job aids for the performers.
  • Lead deployment of customer requirements as defined and approved by the process owner.
  • Responsible for deployment of customer requirements at respective site as agreed and approved by the SLPO.
  • Sustain and improve yield through continuous yield improvement activities / projects

  • Proactively improve test processes to eliminate operational errors and customer RMA using FMEA, Potential Problem Analysis or other tools.
  • Establish team(s) to work on Continuous Improvement projects
  • Drive Post Elect yield and quality improvement.
  • Ensure effective and efficient risk management strategy

  • Collaborate with Global teams in managing material used in operations, which includes customer trays, carrier tapes, reels, desiccant, moisture level indicator card, label etc
  • Work with KMG (Key Material Group) to drive quality/operational improvement projects via cost reduction program, 2nd supplier sourcing, IDM streamlining
  • Define, develop and establish process capabilities, strategy and roadmap

  • Manage execution of engineering and/or cross-functional projects to ensure operational objectives are met.
  • Develop short and long term plans to effectively to meet departmental goals.
  • Maintain a matrix on process capabilities and constraints
  • Manage new product startup.
  • Develop a strategy to develop new capabilities or to overcome the identified process constraints
  • Work with Central Team / equipment suppliers to develop new capabilities

  • Develop strategy to drive Operational Error reduction
  • Foster People Development
  • Ensure that department learning and development opportunities are identified and fulfilled.
  • Develop and promote technical expertise in the group by ensuring relevant technical training, and supporting attendance to technical conferences.
  • Develop a succession management strategy and periodically conduct talent reviews within department.
  • Requirements:

  • Master or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of managerial position
  • Progressive levels of manufacturing or engineering management experience, at least through the department manager level
  • Has depth of understanding and ability to lead manufacturing production daily operations.
  • Has depth of understanding on lean six sigma approach will be added advantage.
  • Ability to advance critical issues and communicate with upper management.
  • Has depth of understanding process and manufacturing operations matters and can give correct total priorities of cycle time, output and product qualities to direct reports.
  • Proven ability as an excellent mentor, team builder and motivator.
  • Validated leadership skills in the values of leadership, execution, teamwork, integrity, dedication and continuous improvement.
