- Provide accurate, detailed, and timely written Arabic-English/English-Arabic of written documents/reports.
- Provide accurate, detailed, and timely spoken Arabic-English/English-Arabic consecutive translation (as requested) of trainings including remotely and in-person in Turkey.
- Respond to IREX e-mails and other types of communication for clarifications, edits, and corrections as and if needed.
- Certification in English-Arabic-English translation preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in translation preferred [please provide references for any translation services performed].

About Irex
IREX is an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to building a more just, prosperous, and inclusive world by empowering youth, cultivating leaders, strengthening institutions, and extending access to quality education and information.
Position Summary
IREX seeks English-Arabic/Arabic-English translators to work remotely from their home-base, or to accompany in-person trainers to deliver consecutive translation on site.
Selected translators will be responsible for the translation of radio and television news and topical programs from audio or video to text as well as translating text-based materials. This includes newscasts and summaries, as well as current affairs, magazines, and feature programs, as well as news and feature articles and podcasts. Selected translators may also be responsible for consecutive translation between trainers and training participants both during face-to-face on-site and virtual training. Previous experience in providing services to media clients, as well as knowledge of the terminology used in media reporting and programming is an advantage. Candidates should be able to process information quickly and concisely and recognize sensitive cultural differences.
Duties And Responsibilities
