Senior Backend Developer - Malaysia - Glints

Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Work with our Director of Engineering and our Product Manager to constantly ship new features and drive the product forward.
2. Ensure Software Engineering alignment with established best practices, development methodologies, and technology choices.
3. Review technology, development methodology, and best practices while balancing the creation of new functionality, immediate needs of existing customers, and augmentation/management of architecture or infrastructure.
4. Establish and cultivate an engineering culture focused on a user-first mentality and business performance, ensuring that the engineering team understands the business direction and how individual work facilitates end goals.
5. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to tackle challenges, identify opportunities, and build innovative solutions

Qualifications:

1. Degree in Computer Science, Maths, or any other relevant degree.
2. Experience with microservice architecture, Kubernetes, Docker, and distributed HTAP databases strongly preferred.
3. At least 5 years of relevant experience in software development using Java (experience with C# and ASP.NET Core is a plus).
4. Deep knowledge of cloud-based systems.
5. Familiarity with Scrum/Agile development methodologies.
6. Experience with Microsoft Azure or other equivalent cloud platforms.
7. Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to grow and learn quickly in a startup environment.
8. Detail-oriented mindset and a genuine passion for our products.
9. Good team player, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
10. Understanding of what it takes to work with a startup company and embody a startup mindset.
11. Reasonable interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills; a good listener who can provide valuable input at the decision-making table and be an advocate for the user.
12. Fluent in English and Chinese Mandarin/Cantonese.
