    Position Overview

    The role reports to the Director, Business Architecture and is responsible for assessing current operations and business processes through the examination of the organization's mission, strategic goals, and customer needs which begins at the strategic level and progresses down through the stakeholder organization. The role will facilitate Business Process Reengineering (BPR) efforts and engages stakeholder organizations to fully define the processes, business rules, and relationships that drive operations.

    The role of the Business Process Reengineering Specialist is to manage the use of process improvement, reengineering methodologies, and Lean related methodologies and principles to conduct process modernization initiatives and projects.

    Responsibilities

  • Developing, configuring and optimizing business processes from inception through to adoption of future state
  • Support activity and data modeling, development of regional methodology, identification of best practices, and creating and assessing performance measurements.
  • Provide group facilitation, discussion on process maps and best way to implement new processes
  • Coordinate between functions and multiple project teams to ensure region-wide integration of reengineering efforts and application of best practice including new or modified business practices..
  • Support the Director of Business Architecture in crafting business capability maps, across both technical and non-technical domains, and define the attributes of each capability. Conduct ongoing capability assessments including a future state maturity at a capability level across multiple horizons.
  • Translate business flows and processes into higher level value streams, aligning these closely with business outcomes and end-to-end user/customer journey maps.
  • Assist in material development, business process reengineering, business case analyses, and organization and product assessments
  • Evaluate analytically and systematically problems of workflows, organization, and planning and develop appropriate corrective action.
  • Work with IT & Digital product owners and delivery teams, user groups, and business analysts to align requirements/backlog to capabilities and business outcomes. Including solution architects and technical architects to map systems and services to capabilities, both current and future state
  • Contribute to the development of project briefs, business cases and definition of project scope, resource plans, estimates and timelines.
  • Assist the activities of assigned projects, focusing on identifying opportunities to improve productivity, decrease costs, increase available capacity, improve accuracy and timeliness, redesign roles and functions.
  • Create proper documentations of policies & procedures (including process flow charts, VSMs) for processes in review, in accordance with best practices, and ensure proper governance framework
  • Instill an open mindset and change behavior through deploying Business Process Management/ Re-engineering, Change Management and Design Thinking practices throughout the projects / initiatives supported.
  • Requirements

    Education and Experience

    Required:

  • At least 3+ years' experience working in relevant roles within reinsurance, insurance, or financial services industry.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with large-scale, global IT and change programs
  • Familiarity with process mapping approaches, methodologies, and tools.
  • Preferred:

  • Graduate degree and/or relevant professional accreditations.
  • Leadership experience
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies
  • Skills

    Required:

  • Experience in business domain modelling, business capability mapping and road mapping activities.
  • Demonstrated experience in process analysis, process mapping and business process improvement.
  • Experience in solution ideation, requirements solicitation and requirements refinement, working with subject matter experts from across multiple domains and levels.
  • Experience in creation of process maps, SIPOC and value stream maps to capturing key processes and systems.
  • Experience using model-based representations that can be adjusted as required to collect, aggregate, or disaggregate complex and conflicting information about the business.
  • Experience in planning and deploying business initiatives defined by the business architecture.
  • Possess analytical skills to identify and eliminate disconnections / silos.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a shared understanding of the business architecture strategy.
  • Possesses skills to be investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills utilizing experience, research, guidelines and internal resources.
  • Well organized with ability to manage multiple tasks and/or projects simultaneously, including the ability to handle changing priorities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received by all stakeholders, including customers and associates.
  • Able to foster teamwork and a customer service focused environment.
  • Able to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines.
  • Ability to work online and to accommodate peers in all time zones.
  • Ability to travel in region as required.
