Responsibilities

• Possess deep knowledge and experience in general litigation, providing legal advice and insights to clients.
• Represent clients in litigation matters, including court appearances, negotiations, and legal research.
• Advocate for clients in court, present arguments, cross-examine witnesses, and manage all aspects of the litigation process.
• Develop and execute comprehensive litigation strategies, set goals, identify legal issues, and determine the best approach to achieve favourable outcomes.
• Assess the risks and benefits of pursuing cases, advising clients on the most strategic and cost-effective approaches.
• Maintain strong client relationships, keep clients informed about case progress, and address client concerns and questions.
• Lead and manage teams of junior lawyers/associates and support staff working on cases.
• Negotiate settlements and agreements when appropriate, using experience to reach favourable terms for clients.
• Draw in new clients, cultivate and sustain client relationships, and grow the litigation practice of the firm.
• Ensure all legal work is conducted with the highest ethical and professional standards, adhering to the rules and regulations governing the legal profession.
• Stay up to date with changes in the law and engage in continuing legal education to maintain expertise.
• Willing to undertake any tasks assigned by the senior partners from time to time.
  
  

Requirements

• A Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from a recognized law school.
• Admission to the Malaysian Bar and a valid practising certificate.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in general litigation.
• The ability to conduct trials independently at all levels of court.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
• Leadership and team management experience is preferred.
• Willing to undertake business development and client management works whenever necessary.
