Senior Executive, Product Innovation - Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur - UEM Sunrise Berhad

Description

The Product Innovation Manager is responsible to identify opportunities, develop strategies for new product features, product enhancements and innovative product to increase the company's competitive edge. This role is also responsible to provide standard guidelines that portrays company's brand and identity, product design DNA, product hierarchy and product standardization.

Innovation, Green Technology & Differentiation

• Plan, strategize and propose initiatives to introduce new innovative ideas to the organization by conducting periodic engagement with internal and external stakeholders
• Keeping abreast with technological advancement & new building materials in the industry to ensure UEM Sunrise remains competitive in the market
• Develop and initiate improvements of products and design processes to achieve unique and high-quality products with calibration to UEMS ESG's principles.

Standardization & Modularization

• Plan and execute product testing whenever required.
• Research, compile and develop architectural design related information for product benchmarking, standardization and guideline development for use across UEM Sunrise projects to ensure design management activities are on-point.
• Plan, develop and update the product standardization & modularisation for all products and developments to improve cost efficiency through DfMA based on best practices and lessons learnt

New to Market products

• Develop ideas potential for new to market products as 'hero products' that will showcase UEM Sunrise utmost potential in design.
• Develop & test new product typologies that will bolster the company's business goals, fulfil market gaps, and highlight UEMS as a premier & innovative developer which stands out from its competitors.

Design Management

• Manage and review design activities for the assigned projects on a day-to-day basis to ensure design proposals by consultants meet company objectives by crafting, executing and providing support for related processes and activities.
• Act as first point of contact for design commentary and communication with consultant team to resolve design related matters timely
• To assess, coordinate, communicate and monitor, with the respective Project Team, to ensure the consultant's design proposals meet the UEMS brand and identity, product design DNA, product hierarchy, design principles and product standardization for the target market segment.
• To proactively facilitate, with the respective Project and Marketing Team, to ensure the consultant's design proposals meet project budget requirements.
• To implement design best practice in achieving good design quality for the product.
• To produce design proposals whenever required.

Product DNA

• Develop product design DNA strategy and design features to strengthen the company brand and product design DNA.
• Constantly analyse current and future architectural, interior design and landscape design trends to increase product design quality and creativity.
• Propose and determine the design approach and direction for township planning and all projects based on the research findings of current and future design trends, site context, development of innovative features, movement of customer behaviours and lifestyle for each target market segment.
• Plan and prioritise product features to be implemented in the projects.

Stakeholder Management

• Maintain and strengthen good rapport with both internal and external stakeholders to foster sustainable development practices and ensure smooth implementation design management process of projects.

Qualification:

• Bachelor's Degree specialised in: Architecture (LAM Part 1 and Part 2)
• 2 to 7 years experience in architectural consultancy, design management, project planning or other relevant experience within relevant function for township, landed properties, high-rise, mixed-use development, commercial building and etc.
• Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, Sketchup, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and any other relevant design software.
• Proactive, collaborative and highly inquisitive
• Good analytical skill and ability to process, analyse, organize data and turn into meaningful information for accurate decision making.
• Creative and innovative
• Knowledge on Sustainable building practices, green building materials / technology, & sustainability guidelines would be an advantage
