    Description

    PURPOSE OF JOB

    The purpose of this job is primarily to manage camera trap photos and carry out species identification for all camera-trap photos retrieved from our study sites in Belum-Temengor Forest Complex (BTFC) from the year 2022 to 2024.

    This position is to be based remotely, but candidates are required to be in our field office in Gerik whenever required.

    MAJOR ACTIVITIES

    1. To manage camera-trap photos acquired from the year 2022 to 2024.

    2. To identify the wildlife in each camera-trap photo and sort according to their species.

    3. To recheck sorted camera-trap photos.

    4. To assist in profiling tiger individuals in the landscape.

    5. To assist Tiger Protection and Monitoring Officers in carrying out their tasks:

    a. Camera-trap maintenance (cleaning, storing and preparing for next deployment).

    b. Asset management and maintenance (field equipment and high value assets).

    SPECIFICATIONS

    1. Passionate with wildlife conservation. Familiarity with mammals in Peninsular Malaysia is a bonus.

    2. Must be computer literate.

    3. Pleasant disposition, hardworking , team player and committed. Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

    4. Organising and management skills are required.

    WORKING RELATIONSHIP

    1. Develop a close professional working relationship with the Tiger Protection and Monitoring Officer, to whom you will be reporting to, respectively on all related matters and maintaining a good working relationship.

    2. In the absence of your supervisor, you should consult the Tiger Protection and Monitoring Manager.

    3. Promote teamwork at all operational levels of WWF-Malaysia for the good of the organisation and towards meeting its conservation objectives.

    SALARY RANGE

    RM70 - RM85 per day
