    About the Department

    The Finance and Corporate Services function manages the financial and administrative needs of the Group to help achieve its business goals.

    Group Finance

    We support enhanced decision-making to achieve optimal and sustainable financial outcomes for our shareholders. We are responsible for providing insights into the performance of the Group through financial, regulatory and performance reporting of the Group.

    Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure general ledger and financial data integrity is maintained and such data are available to key users on a timely basis to support decision making.
  • Review the balance sheet reconciliation/suspense accounts and identify issues, unreconciled and aged items focusing on high risk items/areas.
  • Provide leadership in the areas of financial controls and recommend improvement in existing controls within Finance as well as BUs/SUs.
  • Design, develop and execute financial control strategies to manage potential risks arising from the integrity of financial numbers in the general ledger.
  • Provide oversight of operational accounting functions including monitoring of unusual entries and accruals/provisions
  • Act as the subject matter expert/advisor for any GL account and control related queries.
  • Collaborate with the BUs/SUs to ensure smooth implementation and continued maintenance of Group/local financial control policies.
  • Provide oversight of the Nostro reconciliation process and advice and resolution for unreconciled items when being highlighted.
  • Provide advisory during implementing systems and procedure changes relating to the general ledger, fixed asset and account payable/receivable system.
  • Undertake new initiatives aiming at strengthening the finance operation controls and process improvements.
  • Lead and supervise a team of financial control specialist as well as provide guidance, train and develop them.
  • Participate or lead/drive in any ad-hoc initiatives, when required.
  • Job Requirements

  • Possess a degree in Accounting / Finance or professional qualifications with established professional accounting bodies.
  • 8 to 10 years of experience in GL controls and financial operations.
  • Familiar with the GL system controls and good knowledge of accounting standards and policies.
  • Experience in finance operations and GL control in share services centre will be an added advantage.
