    About the Department

    Group Technology and Operations (GTO) provides software and system development, information technology support services and banking operations.

    We have centralized and standardized the technology components into Singapore, creating a global footprint which can be utilized for supporting our regional subsidiaries and the branches around the world. We operate and support 19 countries with this architecture to provide a secure and flexible banking infrastructure.

    Our Operations divisions provide transactional customer services for our businesses while also focusing on cost efficiency through process improvements, automation and straight through processing.

    Job Responsibilities

  • Plan, lead and oversee the daily custody operations activities such as local/foreign equities and bond settlements, corporate action events, share trading, account opening and payments etc; and acting as a senior point of escalation for issues.
  • Evaluate KPIs to ensure they are still relevant and aligned with priorities in business operations and service levels; and compliance with internal controls and relevant legislation, regulations and bank policies.
  • Work proactively with respective operations team to investigate and resolve exceptions or clients' queries.
  • Develop, implement and execute various strategic/project plans for a rapid scaling operational capacity through automation, process improvements, rapid response times, and eliminating bottlenecks.
  • Review standard operating procedures, evaluate operational processes and identify opportunities for improvements.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with the business units and clients.
  • Express an entrepreneurial mindset; encourage your team to think creatively and outside the box as the Bank grows.
  • Partner with team leaders to create a cohesive and effective cross-functional collaboration amongst the Custody team as well as other teams such as Unit Trust Support and Admin etc.
  • Carry out tasks as assigned by management.
  • Job Requirements

  • 10 – 15 years of working experience in daily operations environment, and preferably related to Securities/Custody, and/or Global Markets processing.
  • Specific experience in Securities related functions such as Corporate Actions/Asset Servicing, Settlement, SWIFT message, Account Opening and well-versed with relevant legislation and regulations will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to achieve business objectives without compromising controls and risk parameters established
  • Effective communication with good writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a structured, high volume, time-sensitive, high-risk and demanding environment.
  • Strong risk control/compliance mindset.
  • Proficient in MS software, especially Excel; Experience with automation tools preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal / leadership / client-servicing skills.
  • Possess good analytical skills, meticulous and good learning ability with great attention to details and multi-tasking.
