    Description

    Software AG customers around the world have developed business-critical enterprise applications based on Adabas (DBMS) and Natural (Programming Language) to run their core business transactions and processes, e.g., large financial enterprises, government organisations, retailers, and others. Contributing to our long-term customer strategy Adabas & Natural 2050+ to modernise and move core applications into the future.

    This Shared-Service-Component Team is responsible to continue maintaining shared services and common components for Adabas and Natural products to continue developing new features and bug fixes. The common components are for example, Java libraries, Eclipse plugins or authentication modules and etc which are used in many Adabas and Natural products.

    Software Engineer will work with other product teams to ensure smooth and timely release of quality Adabas and Natural products.

    To be successful in the role, one should have the following:

    • Bachelor or Master degree in IT or related fields (e.g. Engineering).

    In addition:

    • Advanced knowledge in Java programming and Linux commands.
    • Good knowledge in operating systems Windows and Unix.
    • Good knowledge in programming (e.g C, GoLang or Javascipt)
    • Experience in Source code versioning tool such as GitHub.
    • Experience in automation tool such as Jenkins.
    • Good communication skills to work with different product development teams.
    • Advantage to have web programming and framework knowledge (Typescript, NodeJS, HTML, CSS, Javascript)

    Occasionally, some scripting languages like shell scripts, Perl, Groovy or similar, would be helpful to understand and maintain automation job system like Jenkins.
