    ABOUT THE UNIT

    Cancer Research Malaysia is a non-profit organization dedicated to funding and conducting cancer research in Malaysia. The organization is committed to finding new and better ways to prevent, diagnose, and treat cancer.

    SUMMARY

    The Procurement Senior Officer for Cancer Research Malaysia is a key member of the CEO's office, responsible for leading and managing all aspects of procurement for the organization's cancer research programs. This includes developing and implementing procurement strategies, negotiating and managing contracts with suppliers, and ensuring that all goods and services are procured in a timely and cost-effective manner. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of success in procurement, as well as a deep understanding of the cancer research industry.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop and implement procurement strategies for the organization's cancer research programs
    • Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers
    • Ensure that all goods and services are procured in a timely and cost-effective manner
    • Manage the organization's procurement budget
    • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers
    • Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and developments in procurement
    • Identify and implement new procurement practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness
    • Oversee the work of junior procurement staff
    • Prepare and present reports on procurement activities to the CEO and other senior management team members

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field
    • 5+ years of experience in procurement, preferably in the healthcare or medical research industry
    • Strong negotiation and contract management skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Ability to think strategically and develop innovative solutions
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
