    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Project Manager must manage projects starting from project initialization to project completion to ensure delivery to meet project schedule, budget and quality. He/she will need to co-ordinate with respective Leads across various phases of project including testing (such as SIT, UAT, Performance Test, etc) and deployment.
  • The Project Manager is responsible for managing project risks with risk mitigation steps and communicate with project stakeholders
  • The Project Manager is responsible for establishing a project organization structure and perform management of project resources.
  • The Project Manager must perform stakeholder management including project sponsors, Project Steering Committee members.
  • The Project Manager will lead a project team which consists of team members in various teams such as IT Strategy and Systems, IT Operations and Support, business users, in a matrix organization structure. He/she is responsible for project managing application related projects. Application projects will include systems such as CRM/Billing, Web Application, Call Centre systems, Reporting and Business Intelligence. He/she may need to manage infrastructure related projects will include systems, security and networks/telco projects as and when required.
  • He/she will assist PMO Manager in terms of developing and enhancing project guidelines, planning, scheduling, estimating, costing and risk assessment.
  • He/she must take into consideration the impact of IT Delivery for various portions of IT such as Systems, Security, Operations and Support. He/she will have the responsibility to manage the SIT Test Manager and Business Team for UAT to ensure that projects have considered all IT requirements related to the above mentioned areas have been delivered.
  • Project Managers should be aware and drive Solution Architects / Business Analysts to adhere to the IT Enterprise Architecture and IT Security Policies put forth by the IT Strategy and Systems team in a project.
  • He/she must manage demand for Change Requests within a particular project from business and IT. The person must manage projects priority based on the business needs and resource availability.
  • He/she will assist PMO Manager and Head of IT Delivery in enhancement of the Project Management methodology / guideline and competency for ITD .
  • He/she is responsible to determine IT project timeline intra-dependencies, for example in terms of resources and timelines of various projects.
  • The Project Manager is responsible for managing project issues and resolution steps. He/she will be responsible to escalate project issues to PMO Manager, Head of IT Delivery and Project Steering Committee (if applicable for the project). PMO Manager will be responsible to work with the Project Manager to ensure closure of the escalated issue.
  • He/she must be a people manager who is able to successfully influence and manage a project team that does not report to the functional manager directly. The PMO Manager must be able to have leadership qualities to provide detailed guidance to project managers and remains objective when a differing idea / proposal is being discussed by the team. He/she will be responsible for mentoring / coaching to the team members.
  • He/she must be able to mediate conflicts across IT functional teams, projects, vendors to find a common agreement to conflict resolution.
  • He/she will be responsible for performing Project Deliverable reviews as and when required to check on quality of deliverables. He/she will be responsible for instituting controls / governance into Projects such as through issue management, risk management and periodic status reports to Steering Committee and stakeholders.
  • REQUIREMENTS:

  • Computer Science or Engineering background (minimum level – degree) with at least 8 years of experience.
  • Extensive experience in major application projects and their management through the entire software development life cycle.
  • Applied knowledge of project management principles and methodologies.
  • Background in the development of project management policies, guidelines and practices.
  • Strong understanding of scheduling standards, critical path methodology.
  • In-depth knowledge of project management tools such as MS Project.
  • Experience in the development of project management policies and practices.
  • Experience in managing large application development projects.
  • Experience with managing Broadcast Management System projects would be preferred.
  • Certification by a recognised project management organisation. (eg PRINCE2)
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering complex business support system solutions.
  • CRM or Billing or SAP implementation experience.
