Description
Job Responsibilities:
⦁ Demonstrates technical progression:
(a)
If still pursuing professional qualifications:
(i) by keeping studies for professional exams up to date;
(ii) by attending the firm's structured training module; and
(iii) by complying with the Firm's Continuing Professional Development ("CPD") requirements.
(b) Qualified staff
(i) through update by attending to the Firm's structured training module;
(ii) through continuing professional education programmed prescribed by the respective bodies of which the staff are members; and
(iii) through reading technical output by the Firm and professional journals; and
(iv) by complying with both the Firm's CPD requirements and those of the respective professional bodies of which he/she is a member.
⦁ Demonstrates compliance with independence and ethical requirements from International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants (IESBA) Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants (IESBA Code) and By-Laws (On Professional Ethics, Conduct and Practice) of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants ("By-Laws").
⦁ Applies understanding of the following in engagements assigned:
⦁ International Standards of Auditing;
⦁ Firm's audit manual or audit methodology;
⦁ Approved accounting standards in Malaysia (ie. Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards, Malaysian Private Entities Reporting Standards); and
⦁ Companies Act
⦁ Works effectively as a team member, sharing responsibility, providing support, maintaining communication and updating senior team members on progress.
⦁ Understands and responds timely to auditing, accounting and reporting issues.
⦁ Prepares reliable and accurate work papers in a precise, concise and logical manner.
⦁ Review the financial statements prepared by client.
⦁ Understands the engagement completion and the review processes.
⦁ Deliver work on time as per timeline.
⦁ Assigns work to assisting staff, provides guidance to junior staff and review his/her work done.
⦁ Identifies and refers ethical, independence and conflict issues to manager/partners.
⦁ Any ad-hoc assignment / project from time to time.
