Abid B. Ahmad

Hi there! 👋 I'm Abid(ɑː bɪt) Batrisyia Ahmad residing in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. When it comes to cooking and preparing for parties, I am usually the one for the job. From baked macaronis to flavourful char kuey tiaws, risottos and stroganoffs, it is one craft that I have honed and perfected during the winding pandemic years. 

I have an IT background in Software Engineering and had experience working in IT, marketing and communications which includes software development, market research and human-centred, face-to-face problem-solving. 

Currently, I am actively pursuing a career in Content Development and User Experience, with a particular focus on the education sector. I derive immense satisfaction from creating valuable and memorable assets that will benefit and resonate with our future professionals and experts. While I may not be the next president or a Billboard top charter, I strive to make a positive impact in everything that I create. I believe that kindness, empathy and thoughtfulness can bring us far in this complex day and age, hence I am looking to work in a conducive and diverse environment with ambitions to help the needy.

• Led and managed a team of 3 to deliver a framework of a jewellery tracking system for a reputable jeweller in Malaysia.
• Managed the role of Project Manager by applying agile methodology to the given assignment.  
• Assisted in the development and execution of the software which shortens the development phase by 5%.
• Structured and conducted alpha testing to test the functionality of the site. 
• Presented design concepts for the programs’ User Manual that will be utilised by end-users.
• Effectively collaborated with back-end programmers, leveraging expertise in system engineering. 

KIDDOMO DISCOVERY JOHOR                  

Part-Time Staff  ( May 2019 – August 2019 )

• Retained quality technical equipment and interactive apparatuses. Ensured that they are properly maintained and prepared for the following day. 
• Briefed check-ins and out processes of clients, primarily children, and provided guidance to both them and their guardians in navigating specific checkpoints. 
• Coordinated and executed annual events for yearly programs e.g. National Day, Halloween, and birthday parties. 
• Collaborated with schools and Crayola Asia. Hosted and co-managed the event with nearly 100 contestants.
• Deployed to lead workshops for audiences ranging from 3 to 65 years old, with participant numbers as high as 150 individuals.

This application focuses on the knitting and crocheting community and a solution to help them keep track of their stitches. It is also beginner friendly and caters to neurodivergent users and users with dementia.
