About Amirah Farhan Kamaruddin:
An experienced research scientist who worked on protein electrochemistry using graphite and a gold electrode. Worked as a teaching assistant for equilibrium thermodynamics (undergraduates) and research methods (postgraduates) subjects. I am familiar with electrochemical techniques such as voltammetry and chronoamperometry. I have experience in mathematical and scientific strategies as well as handled various processes of data collection and analysis using software like OriginPro, Microsoft Excel and GraphPad Prism. I have a varied background in data modelling and simulation by using QSoas and Mathematica, and also in multiple research methods including Python programming. I used electronics and 3D printed materials for light source manufacturing and customised a photoelectrochemical cell for photoelectrochemistry work. A solid communicator and bilingual in English and Malay.
Experience
Worked as a teaching assistant at The University of Manchester for equilibrium thermodynamics (undergraduate level) and research methods (postgraduate level) subjects. Had an industrial experience in the pharmaceutical field as a lab assistant who tested pharmaceutical products including in-process, bottling control and the finished products. Won best poster at a Butler Meeting Conference in 2020 during my PhD year.
Education
Developed the research of protein electrochemistry and used the various kinds of approaches in data processing, simulation, modelling, and analysis which include, acquisition of data, data fitting and model discrimination. Developed a new enzyme-modifier model for data evaluation. Assisted in teaching (laboratory & tutorial-based) undergraduate and master students.
