Hui Juen Hon

A Master’s student near completion with more than a year of experience in conducting bioengineering research under Malaysia’s Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) Prototype Development Research Grant (PRGS) and two years of experience in teaching engineering degree modules and Singapore syllabus Mathematics. Possesses a strong foundation for engineering mathematics and other mechanical engineering related modules. Highly passionate in research and education field.

Mathematics Teacher @ Singapore Math Academy (11/2021 to Present)

• Well-versed in Singapore syllabus Mathematics from kindergarten, Year 1 to Year 10.
• Well experienced in conducting physical, hybrid and online classes.
• Used Concrete Pictorial Abstract learning system to help children learn Mathematics. 
• Experienced in handling group classes and private one-to-one classes.
• Experienced in teaching special needs children which are slow learners.
• Also tutored engineering degree modules such as Engineering Mathematics and Properties of Material to one-to-one private students.

Research Support Personnel @ Taylor's University (08/2020 to 08/2021)

• Did research in the field of cervical cancer screening for MOHE PRGS project.
• Designed and fabricated a novel cervical sampling device for Pap smear procedure using 3D modelling software, ANSYS simulation software, and additive manufacturing techniques.
• Set up pilot tests by recruiting gynecologists to assess the said device, then analyzing their feedback for further improvement. 
• Involved in patent filing process for the device, which are patent research, filing and presentation.
• Trained and supervised students on using laboratory equipment such as filament extruder, 3D printer, universal testing machine, and so on depending on module requirement.

• Graduated with first class honors for Bachelor’s degree (CGPA: 3.89).
• Recipient of Taylor’s World Class Scholarship 2015 for foundation and Bachelor’s degree.

Master’s Degree in Engineering @ Taylor's University (03/2021 to 04/2023)

• Thesis has been done, currently awaiting viva voce.
• The project was fully funded by MOHE’S PRGS grant.
