Nicholas Wee

Final year student at Universiti Malaya pursuing Bachelor of Science in Materials Science. Through university courses, I have also used the programming language C++ and the systems engineering software LabVIEW, giving me basic knowledge and understanding in these fields. I am working with MXenes for my final year project. 

Currently looking for an internship where I can where I can add value to the company and industry. The duration of said internship is officially from the 17th of July to the 17th of September 2023. However, am happy to begin as soon as required and end as late as 9th October 2023.

Through university courses, I have obtain skills and experiences as follows:

• Capable in basic lab procedures (measuring, weighing, pipetting, mixing, etc.) and familiar with lab safety protocols.
• Have experience in using UV/Vis spectrometer, heating oven, tabletop centrifuge, fume hood, potentiostat and other laboratory equipment.
• Experienced in Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel, as well as Canva.
   

Through part time work as a cafe server, I have:

• Provided prompt service with friendly, professional, and patient attitude to building rapport with diverse clientele, ensuring a memorable dining experience for over 100 guests per shift.
• Described in detail menu items, specials, and promotions, provided recommendations as well as clarified customer inquiries regarding menu items.
• Upsold menu items and promoted specials to drive sales growth, resulting in increased revenue and a boost in profitability.
• Communicated special dietary requests or allergies to the kitchen staff, ensuring customers requirements are met meticulously.
• Assisted with additional side tasks, such as restocking supplies, folding napkins, and polishing silverware, ensuring seamless operations and allowing customers needs to be tended to immediately as and when required.
• Optimized kitchen operations by efficiently preparing ingredients for next day use, ensuring seamless workflow and timely service, resulting in enhanced productivity.
• Trained one new hire on work protocols, allowing them to integrate themselves seamlessly into the team.
• Maintained the cleanliness and tidiness of the establishment, creating a welcoming environment that impressed customers.

Bachelor of Science in Material Science:
Through this programme, I have gained insight on properties of materials from various classes, how they arise, and characterization techniques of these materials. 

I also have experience in C++ and NI LabVIEW through elective courses offered.
