Pravina Narayanan

Hi, I’m Pravina, 30 year old with a 8+ years working experience in a goverment hospital, currently in search of a new environment that would be challenging yet rewarding to make use of my potential and self betterment purposes. Mainly specialises in blood banking although have diverse experiences in other labs as well. 

I’ve been working in Hospital Slim River since March 2015, was hired as a junior medical lab technologist. I have exposure to clinical biochemistry, Haematology and Microbiology lab as well as Blood Bank. My permanent placement is at Blood Bank, I do cover other labs during oncalls and shifts. Over the years, I’ve assisted my senior Medical lab Technologist with their work and have repleced them when they’re aren’t available. I was also assigned to be the temporary Public Relation Officer to be in charge of blood campaigns organisers and also blood campaigns as the vacancy wasn’t filled by any applicants from the year 2018-2019.  This was done to make sure blood stock levels were adequate and maintained above the critical levels. Currently eligible for Senior Medical Lab posting, on hold due to seniority and lack of vacancy. 

I’ve completed my Diploma in Medical Lab Technology at Kolej Teknologi Makmal Perubatan, IMR, Kuala Lumpur under the sponsorship of Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Awam( SPA) from the year 2012-2014. Graduated with a 3.97 CGPA. Joined part time studies for Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Sciences in the year 2019 till present at Management & Science University ( MSU), currently in my final year, and will be graduating next year. Classes are held online, will only be attending physically for my thesis presentation. This is to clarify that my studies will not interfere with my working hours.
