Having the experience of being an Art Director for 8 years and later, a copy-based Creative Group Head and also an Associate Creative Director, I've always had a unique perspective on effective advertising work (both copy and art) - all this in over 30 years. Being a musician is a plus point as well for writing and composing award-winning jingles and video scripts.

Published a book, “The Strange Wisdom of Gooru G and 50 Other Illuminations”. It consists of very short stories using metaphors and analogies with a philosophical outlook of the human social condition laced with subtle humour.

Have also given talks on subjects concerning creative and critical thinking to college and university students at Diploma, Masters and PhD levels.

Started out as a Fine Artist more than 30 years ago and then on to a Graphic Designer in a publication for two internationally distributed magazines and then became the Art Director there. After 14 years, jumped into advertising as a copywriter and progressed to the positions of Associate Creative Director in a boutique ad agency and then to Creative Group Head in an international one. Reinvented myself twice throughout my career, but always remained within the creative lines of work.

As for my formal education, I regard learning under my art teacher in school as the most relevant. Informally, I'm an autodidact as my experiences in interacting with people and learning from the different cultures have been invaluable in the art of communication, be it within a creative team or with the masses.
