I am actually a diversified individual, I was a former Journalist, but in 2014 I decided to go out on my own. I have been doing some freelance HR work and coaching/doing sports events  sports football and track and field. Truth be told the later was more profitable, next year will be 10 years, I also blog too, I would like to head back to the job market and I am currently doing my cyber security and social media certifications. I am 53 years of age and I keep fit everyday and I am always learning stuff, a voracious reader too. When I came out of school- After a couple of odd jobs working as a waiter, stock market clerk and interviewer for a market research firm, enrolled at a community college in 1991 to gain my diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, left college before to gain an advance certificate. Went on to be a Senior Writer and Assistant Editor, writing for The Asian Defence & Diplomacy, Asian Airlines & Aerospace, Investors Digest, Malaysian Business, Vision KL, 90soccer etc.

Worked at Mkini and South-East Asia E-Media Centre, written speeches, press releases, advertising copy and is well versed with social media tools. Was instrumental in helping to launch the on-line business magazine kinibiz.com in one month which is part of malaysiakini.com. Worked with NGOs like Global Forum for Media Development and South East Asia E-Media Centre, where I was working as a Researcher for a human rights project. Spent almost two months in the jungles of Borneo searching and sourcing for tribal art and sculpture, during this period in 2000 I studied on Borneo tribes and their culture.

Worked here on a contract and project basis. The organization is involved in fighting for the rights of free-speech and independent media globally and helping with dialogue and engagement. My main role was in communications and to highlight issues in relation to suppression of media, this encompassed a global role. 

My duties included administrative work; I edited, updated, used social media tools and wrote for this organization based in Brussels (though I worked remotely from Malaysia reporting to the Director in Brussels). Other duties included web-site maintenance, looking at database maintenance, getting in new members, writing press-releases and using or utilizing free tools like newsletter system; Mailchimp and enterprise software like Zoho to get the best for the organization. I monitored news agencies like CNN, BBC, Al- Jazeera and other news sites and even social media sites like facebook. 

I advised and liaised with our members; I worked on projects and conferences like the Bali Democracy Forum in Indonesia and GFMD Highway Media Forum in South Africa. From time to time I highlighted and edited articles that are happening around the world in relation to independent media. I was instrumental in Transitioning and implementing data from DabbleDB to Zoho and also implemented our newsletter system (Mailchimp).

During this period I worked together with South_East Asia E-Media Centre, reporting on human rights agenda for 2013/14 on the United Nations Project on Malaysia. It includes interviewing key personal in the NGO and government sectors and going through various published reports and to see if the proper implementation of promises made by Malaysia to United Nations on the last meeting on human rights issues were carried out. Worked on the launch of kinibiz.com during this period.
