Syafiq Sarial

I am currently a third-year undergraduate student majoring in Applied Science (Mathematics and Economics) at Universiti Sains Malaysia. As I am majoring in Mathematics and Economics for my undergraduate, and Computer Science (Information Technology) for my diploma, I am beyond keen to set foot in Data Science or Data Analyst department. To make my diploma knowledge doesn’t go rust, I took extracurricular subject which is Artificial Intelligence Literacy in my undergraduate. All the learning from Mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Science came in handy because it developed my sense of critical thinking.

During my Diploma Internship, I work as a IT Intern (Backend), the work that I did is as follows:
● Assisted in the development of projects, monitored, and resolved technical support requests, and supported colleagues on any IT related issues by ensuring the deadline is met.
● Assessed the project team in making a website, debugging, and testing the system so that it runs smoothly.
● Assembled documentation specification throughout the project.

Selected Project Experience
● ILSAS TNB Administration Website
- Supported the team in developing the website by making sure the SQL and databases used are correct.
- Built pages using the company’s own framework which mainly focuses on SQL and databases.
● UniKL Administration Admission Website
- Designed the administration admission page by using the company’s own framework based on the requirements given by supervisor.

For my previous study background during diploma, I graduated in Diploma in Computer Science (Information Technology) with Dean’s Award. The skills that I have obtained are:
• Learned some of the programming languages (C, C++, Java, HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, SQL)
• Developed a full stack system for an e-commerce website for my final year project.

For my current study background in degree (as of in my 5th semester), the skills that I expected to be familiar are:
• Learned Minitab software which allow me to analyse big data and interpret the outcome.
• Know R programming language and SPSS.
