I would like to introduce myself as Syamim Asyraf, a passionate medical officer adept at providing excellent patient care with exceptional management skills. I am skilled in Emergency Medicine, Healthcare Management, Healthcare, Internal Medicine, and Clinical Research. I am also a team Leader of Covid-19 Pioneer Team in HKL and Board-certified in Occupational Health and Smoking Cessation Service.

Currently, I am working as a Medical Officer at Klinik Kesihatan Kuala Lumpur. I am responsible for Out Patient Department, to accurately take down the patient's medical history, update their charts and information, order tests, review tests for abnormal findings, design treatment plans, answer patients' questions, and go over proper nutrition. I treated each of my patients with special attention and care. I strive to be humble in my practice and I try not to jump to conclusions too quickly. I like to keep in mind that there is always more to learn. It is very rewarding to see someone be healed after being treated for a long time. It brings me indescribable joy. I am also in charge of the Smoking Cessation Clinic KKKL, and managed to digitalize the registration process of new patients through QR Code.

During my service at Bahagian Kawalan Penyakit, KKM Putrajaya, I was exposed to data management and analysis as I was in charge of managing National Covid-19 Data and National Covid-19 Vaccination Rate & Distribution Data among Health Care Worker in Malaysia. During my time here, I have also had placements at rural hospital in Sabah which have shown me a different medical environment.

Hospital of Kuala Lumpur was the starting point of my professional career. During my MOship there, I worked in Internal Medicine Department (General Ward and Dengue Ward). During my HOship year I worked in Orthopedics, Internal medicine, Obstetric and Gynecology, Surgical, Emergency and Paediatrics. My experience includes working in the emergency room with critically ill and injured patients, where I learned to work under very demanding and stressful conditions. During my first year of MOship, I was trusted to be the Team Leader of Covid-19 Pioneer Team when the pandemic first hit Malaysia in March 2020. I was in charge of setting up new wards as cases increase, arranging medical officer timetables, as well as managing the movement of patients from asymptomatic cases to acute cases.

I have a friendly and compassionate nature and enjoy a good working relationship with colleagues and staff. These two inherent qualities and a strong spirit of cooperation allow me to provide the highest quality care to patients and support and contribute to the organization’s growth and prosperity.

I am a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of the Surgery from University of Cairo with a full-board scholarship from Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan/MAIWP. I have obtained several licenses to enhance my skills such as the Occupational Health Doctor (NIOSH), Certified Smoking Cessation Service Provider (CSCSP), Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
