About Sze Wey Kong:
The decision to be a short-term volunteer teacher at an outskirt school has eventually become the turning point of my career as well as my life. I discovered my true passion and love for teaching and felt the urge to speak into lives while volunteering.
I started my formal teaching career as a Mandarin and Art teacher in an International School in Penang, Malaysia. After three years in this position, I studied for my Cambridge Certification in Teaching and Learning which helped in improving my planning and behaviour management skills, as well as communication and time management skills. My goal is to create academically engaging learning experiences through an environment that fosters creativity, curiosity, and kindness. I am currently a Mandarin teacher at Prince of Wales Island International Primary School in Penang, where I am accountable for various aspects of planning and curriculum development. I believe holistic education is the foundation of success in life.
Beyond the four walls of the classroom, I love traveling, not so much shopping but nature and culture. I do spend quite a fair bit of time sewing too.
