Thiren Sathyamohan

As an accounting and finance student, I have had the privilege of being exposed to the accounting and finance side of things on top of also acquiring some working experience in both field in the form of my internships. I believe I am equipped with the right tools to make my next career move.

 Within the two years of my degree, I have discovered my true interests; I have always had a passion for capital markets and allocating capital. For a fact, I have been actively trading in the markets since 2018 and turned profitable in 2020. Besides that, I have also learned to allocate capital through long horizon investments in publicly traded equities in Malaysia, China and US. From the very beginning I have always invested myself in acquiring the knowledge before I invested in anything. Hence, I have developed a unique ability among all other fresh graduates where I have the ability to analyse a company bottoms up and top down. As a result, I say this out of relief than pride that I have done rather well investing in the markets especially considering the tough markets since the Covid-19 market recovery. I have always been an avid follower of famous capital allocators and I can confidently report that I have consistently dedicated myself to learning outside of university to get better at what I do. To share some of my experiences, I have learned that companies and industries all go through the vicissitudes of the markets; and this always causes disconnection among prices and value, and this is purely what I buy and sell. 

As an accounting & finance graduate from Taylor's, I'm proud to say that my University has enabled me to not only excel academically but also hands on. I have learned accounting, finance & investing knowledge through the years of my degree and my own learning.
